The Simpsons Arrives in Rocket League: But It's Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of

It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Epic Games' battle royale, but this isn't the sole place where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in Fortnite. That said, if gamers will truly desire to use it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield car the community is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this isn't it.

The Dream Vehicle

While many gamers would undoubtedly love to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical automobile Homer built personally in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what's being offered. We aren't even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in season 10. Instead, players will obtain the Simpsons' everyday well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since 1989. Though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it stands as an recognizable symbol of the series. For those who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan uses the same hitbox as the Dominus body type.

As detailed in a press release, the missions will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance sufficient for picking up the perfect donuts!"

While the complete list of earnable items hasn't been revealed, here is what has been confirmed so far:

  • Blinky topper
  • Homer's hedge-themed banner
  • Garbage-themed wheels
  • 20,000 XP per challenge

Based on promotional images is any indication, it seems players will also get wheels featuring a TV showing The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
